happy memorial day!

back home... its always nice to go away, but its also very nice to come home! nothing like waking up in your own bed! but in case you are curious, a quick recap of the trip.

i was in miami for work for a few days...msks was there too! we stayed in south beach in the art deco district... it was mostly work and no play, but we did squeeze in a quick sephora and urban outfitters run and a few group dinners. on our dine-around night we went to dinner at this fun place called whitehall... we found it with the urban spooon ap on the iphone and weren't sure what we would find upon arrival.

it was swanky...everything was white ( and clear!) and
i loved this wall of black and white photos...

and how many days have a felt doing this ( i have a big purse remember?)

i have to mention that the entire time i was in miami i kept thining about dexter... yep, the showtime show! lewis and i marathon watched the dvds over christmas... its a strange one, but very good...and set in miami. (courtney at in(side) the loop has been watching too and described it very well! )

then when the work was over, it was on to key west...lewis flew down and we drove from miami to the keys. once we got there we ditched the car and rented bikes. they even had baskets on the front, which was my favorite part!

our friends lauren and casey reccommended we eat at blue heaven... we liked it so much, we ate their twice!

can you blame us? look how delicious it looked...

we also went kayaking, but there are no pictures ( thankfully) to document that! i think if lewis had been able to he would have filmed it, because to say i was a bad kayaker might be an understatement! it was all fun until a slight run in with a tree and a spider that resulted in a tear or two ( me) and lots of laughing ( lewis and me too)! oh well, that's the stuff memories are made of...

i hope everyone has a great memorial day... i am playing catch up around the house before the work week starts!

Looks like a fun trip! I know what you mean about coming home and waking up in your own bed!

Mary Ellen told me she saw you at a wedding a couple of weekends ago... and put the connection together. Small world!
